A Valley Center man is spearheading the organization of a large, county effort to view the annual Perseid Meteor shower and raise consciousness about the Night Sky. Valley Center is/was the u201cHighway To The Starsu201d when the Big Eye was moved through the then town of about 5,000 souls to be set in place at Palomar Mountainu2019s new observatory back in the 1940u2019s.u00a0 The road carried the 200 inch mirror up the mountain via tortuous turns.
