A local resident asked a volunteer at the History Museum if the fabled Pageant of the Masters art extravaganza originated in Valley Center. She had attended a performance of the annual outdoor event in Laguna Beach where living persons re-create famous paintings, and had noticed a footnote about its origins 112 years ago on the grounds of a famous property in Valley Center.
