Ventura County Fire unveils world-class training center
You can never train too hard for a job that will kill you. With that somber declaration, Ventura County Fire Chief Dustin Gardner officially opened the departmentu2019s new, world-class training facility at the Camarillo Airport on June 24. The complex, a massive capital investment totaling approximately $32.5 million, is designed to provide firefighters with the most realistic, high-stakes simulations available to ensure public and responder safety throughout the region.  Gardner revealed that the vision for the site began years ago when former fire chiefs recognized the need for a facility that could simulate modern fire conditions.
