GAINES TWP. u2013 The Genesee County Election Commission has approved language on one of four petitions targeting Gaines Township Supervisor Daniel Jenkins and Treasurer Robert Henderson for recall. Following a hearing Monday, June 29, only Jenkins is facing recall. However, petitioner Constance Greene said she would immediately submit new recall language against Henderson. Greene launched the recall after the township Board of Trustees voted 3-2 to hire former firefighter Dan Stevens as the new fire chief, choosing Stevens over Interim Chief Scott Mangrum. The decision prompted mass resignations of firefighters.
